The Smartech STC2X2 is a two-bank smart battery charger built to look after a whole shed full of batteries at once. With two fully independent charging channels rated at 2 amps each (4 amps total), it charges, maintains and revives 6-volt and 12-volt batteries automatically, then holds them at the ready with a safe maintenance charge for as long as you leave it connected. Two independent charging banks in one STC2X2 unit

The STC2X2 gives you two separate chargers in a single compact housing. Each bank has its own mode button (A and B) and its own set of leads, so you can charge two completely different batteries at the same time, on different settings. Put a 12-volt lithium motorcycle battery on Bank A and a 6-volt classic-car battery on Bank B, and each one gets exactly the charge profile it needs. It is a genuine space and time saver for anyone maintaining more than one vehicle.

8-stage smart charging on the STC2X2

Every bank runs a fully automatic charging program managed by a microprocessor that constantly monitors the battery and delivers the optimal charge without ever overcharging. The STC2X2 works through eight charge stages: Diagnosis, Pulse, Soft Start, Bulk Charge, Absorption, Analysis, Equalisation and Float. The Pulse stage helps break down the sulphate build-up that robs a tired lead acid battery of capacity, while the final Float stage keeps a fully charged battery topped up and ready to go. The result is better performance and longer battery life compared with a traditional charger.

STC2X2 battery compatibility: 6V, 12V, AGM and lithium

Selectable charge modes make the STC2X2 suitable for almost every small battery in the garage. Choose from four modes per bank:

• 12V Standard for conventional wet, calcium, EFB and maintenance-free batteries
• 12V AGM/VRLA for absorbed glass mat and sealed lead acid batteries
• 12V Lithium (LiFePO4) for lithium iron phosphate batteries
• 6V for 6-volt classic, vintage and powersport batteries

The STC2X2 is designed for batteries in the 6.5 to 20 Ah range, which covers most motorcycle, mower, PWC, ATV and small automotive batteries.

Lithium BMS reactivation with the STC2X2

A lithium battery that has drained far enough to trip its Battery Management System can be hard to bring back to life with an ordinary charger. The STC2X2 includes a dedicated BMS reactivation function that gently raises the voltage above 11V to wake a shut-down LiFePO4 battery, then moves into its normal charging program. It is a feature that can rescue a lithium battery an ordinary charger would simply refuse to touch.
